They left me alone
Their faces to the water
They enjoyed the sights
The underwater marvels
While I white-knuckled
A single fragile lifebuoy
I put on the mask
Or, rather, wrestled it on
Then submerged as well
I choked as I longed for breath
It took a few tries
I saw little then saw all
The marine beauty
The majesty of the depths
I too was in awe
But only for a minute
My goggles fogged up
I emerged and flipped over
The afternoon sky
Its slow change from blue to gold
Took my breath away
As I waddled towards shore
I thought that perhaps
Nature is naturally
Breathtaking to see
